    Solix/Onix standby mode

I can not find a definitive answer to, what if anything is still running when the unit is in standby mode? Bob

Yes the unit is still "running" but not processing or broadcasting sonar. If it was not running, there would be the long startup time like when powered on.

Thanks Wayne, there is a choice to leave sonar on during standby. Bob
I am mostly interested in which network functions will still be working. Sharing of waypoints, transducers and GPS. I should probably wait till I get it all hooked up and see for myself but am eager learning while in drydock.

There are two ways to do Standby, but the Sonar Standby with three choices for that in Simulator on my desk doesn't do anything.

On the solix it depends on your standby settings. I have mine set to disable all local sonar

I get the pinging or not pinging sonar stuff in standby. I guess I should ask for a specific example: Let's say I like to have a clean screen at the console. I have all my waypoints in the bow unit. When I turn it on I can get all those waypoints to appear on my console. I then put my bow unit into standby to save juice. Can I still see the waypoints or do I have to import them into the console unit? Bob

well on the solix the waypoints are actually on each unit, not just shown on one and stored on the other. so you can see them on either even if 1 of the units is off

Really! I guess the documentation I have read showing the waypoints from the other units with a green outlines. Like most documentation it is probably out of date. Thanks for the info. I guess when I get back on the water with this stuff I can start finding out how it really works. Bob

As Troy said, waypoints are written to all units. As for sharing, yes, shared items that are in or on the unit in standby will still share. In my case, it is the Heading Sensor functionality and whichever map I am using.
