    2001 Champion 203 DC w/225 Optimax

Kind of interested in one of these, have had a couple Champion's before, a 1984 and 1996, the 96 being a 191DC Elite if I remember correctly. Been without a rig couple years now due to health but looking to pickup another boat. How is this 2001 Champion 203 in general and what is the length and width, weight if known for these? Assume would be a high 60's mph rig with the 225. Not sure max rating wasn't a 250 though? Thanks for any info. re this year, model Champion.

Anyone have any idea as to $$$ value, estimates? Dual console, dual axle - 2 new tires, 36V MK troll. motor, pretty new 4 batteries. 340 hrs. with fresh power head and new lower unit, Lowrance 10 and 8 with structure scan. I realize 17 yrs. old but no idea what Champion like this now worth? Thanks for any help?

PLEASE SEE MY LAST POST ON 1/25/2018 The 203 sold before I got a chance. Now a 2006 Champion 210 DCX Elite w/250 Merc. XS is looking interesting, but looking for estimate on value???????? The 1/25 post indicates how equipped/condition. Thanks for any information available.

Any V6, 20'3, 90 inch beam, Mid 60's with a 3.0/200, 70+ MPH rig with a 225, mid 70s or better with a 250. Last of the Mt. Home skinny boats. Great hull.

My older than this Champions were excellent rough water boats - how is this 2001 year 2003DC as I do fish waters that get pretty rough at times. Thanks

Equally as good as the 86" hulls. The extra length over your previous Champs will add to the rough water ride

The 2001 203 dc is great in the rough water! Living in Michigan we fish the great lakes, Lake St. Clair and other bigger bodies of water and it handles and fishes awesome!

If you have a chance at buying a 2001 203 with a 225 I would do it if it checks out!

I recently upsized from a 97 181 to a 99 203 and all I can say is wow!!! I wish I had gotten a 203 a long time ago! I often fish out of my father-in-law's FX21 and there is no comparison...the 203 blows all other 20 footers out of the water on ride, handling, and fishability!

    Isn't the 2001 203 a forward tank hull?

Not positive, but I don't think they moved the tank forward until manufacturing went from Mtn Home to Murfreesboro.... That was 2002-2003 time-frame.

Pretty sure it's a rear tank unless you got the optional under the seat tank as well. At least until they moved em from Mt. Home.

Bob, you'll love the 203. Not as tippy as your/our 191 was. I sold your 191 and got my 202.

Hey Billy - how's it going? Been a long time. First time since the 1970's I have been without a bass boat this long and its driving me crazy. Had to sell my BassCat as have Stage IV incurable cancer but reasonable control with heavy medication now. Doctors released me to fish again, just don't take the med's the day before or day I fish. Saw a 2001 Champion 203DC available and trying to decide if I want to give it a try. Not sure what their value is but this one has decent graph's, 225 Optimax, about 340 hrs. on motor. Pretty old but appears well taken care of. The BassCat I had was also an excellent boat but doctors' orders for no fishing, my wife of 56 yrs. agreed - but released now to fish, just not as much as I had been used to. Nice to hear from you - thanks! ...............BOB

    Bob,

I'll be praying for you. I hope you feel good enough to enjoy your days on the water. I test drove a '01 203 for a buddy. It had a Yamaha 225. It runs good. It's a little tight at the helm if your a big/tall guy. But the boat drives and handles great!

The one my buddy bought was $16,500 I think. IMO, it was about 2k too much. It needed new batteries, tires and he changed the trolling motor. But, it's what he wanted. Condition and maintenance can be a 10k swing in these boats.
