    45” or 52” Ultrex?

I have a Legend Alpha 211 and wanting to upgrade. I can’t find many experiences online with Legend guys and their choice. Needing to know if the 45 has more drawback on my boat than the 52 has upside.

52 legend sits higher than a lot of boats at the nose! Every 21 footer I've been in has 52in

The Ledgend is quite light, am I right? So just sayin if you fish with a heavy weight on the rear deck a 45" might come out of the water. I'm 130lbs soaking wet, I ordered the tge 52".
    I got nothin

I asked the same question a month or so ago and received the same 50/50 responses. I have a BassCat Cougar and decided to go with the 52. I bet the 45 would have been fine. However, a number of guys have started fishing off the back of their boat while the Ultrex holds them on A spot. I can see us doing the very same thing and I wanted to reduce the amount of time the trolling motor would come out of the water.

Hate post on this topic. I have a new Phoenix 920 on order and went back and forth on this but went with the 45. Seems to be 50/50 on preference but I think I will be fine with the 45. I better be!

I got the 52 just because when I bought it they were backordered to forever. TW came up with one 52" and I jumped on it. I wish I had waited. The 52 is just too big for my 18'8" Nitro. It takes up more room and it's more of a chore to deploy and retrieve. When in shallow water, I have to raise it up so high that it becomes an obstacle when casting.

I would probably trade it straight up for the same model in a 45''.
    Don't worry Ma'am....
    I'm only here for the
    Bass.

Unfortunately you will have to guess until you know what you need on your particular boat. A 45" frustrated me to no end on my last 20'2" boat - constantly coming out of the water in chop. I went to a 52" and I set it a couple inches from the lowest setting and never adjusted it all season. If the 52" is the right size for your boat, you shouldn't need to raise it so high that its ever interferes with casting.

45 inch on my 20 foot boat. the transducer is 1.5 ft below the surface. 52 would be too long for me

Spot lock doesnt do much if the trolling motor isnt in the water.... if you have a 45" trolling motor now and the waves dont pull it out of the water constantly go with another 45. I went with a 52" on my 20ft boat
