    prop for 2018 721

I am currently running a 25 fury. I can get 77 mph at 5940 rpms with dual 8 ft poles and 3/4 tank of gas and livewells empty. I have a 10inch atlas jack plate. the only issue is to get that speed I run the plate up to 18. I have to run my plate down to 12 for my holeshot. If I run my plate higher I get blowout on m holeshot. Is this normal or should I try a 26 fury or 26 tempest plus? Holeshot is a rocket with the 25 fury.

In the boat world the norm is what works for each boat. No 2 will be exactly the same. Sounds like you have yours dialed in pretty dang good

2017 721: Yesterday, 50 degrees outside, 55 degree water temps, 2 guys(350lbs), 1/2 tank of gas, 26p fury, 68 mph at 5050 rpm. I normally switch to a 25p in warmer months. My boat is set up exactly like yours. I set my Atlas to 12 to get out of the hole, then bump it up to 15-16 running WOT. I didn't run it WOT yesterday, due to the lake condition. But with the set up I discovered, I believe my speeds would have been the highest they've been since owning the boat. The trim part is what confused me, I'm still playing with the trim and the "limit" before it chines so much I can't adjust it. Yesterday, I think I figured it out

Question. I have a 2014 721 with 250 pro xs 10" atlas. came with a 25p fury 75mph at 6100rpms plate is at 3.25". wanted to bring down my rpm so i bought a 26p fury. with the 26 it runs 6050rpm at 77mph plate at 4" however tournament load with two people it wont hardly get out of the hole and will do at best 71mph plate at 5". The 25 with 2 people (500lbs) and 3/4 tank boat gets up pretty good and will do 74-75 at 6100rpm plate at 4". am i turning to many rpms? the 26 fury i bought has extra holes drilled in it with 3 of them plugged 3 unplugged. i am just confused on why my rpm didnt change much and why my speed is so different on the 26 loaded vs unloaded.

Either of the props been worked? Furys are notorious for not being right out of the box.

I believe the 26 has been as it has extra vent holes. Not sure on the 25 it came with the boat.

It it were me and you're concerned about it I'd get with a prop guy, Mark Croxton would be a good choice, and tell him what you want with the prop and he should get you close. But in the mean time, pull the plugs on the 26 one at a time and see how that helps on the holeshot. A true 26 fury should be very close to the right all around prop for your boat.

And speaking of rpms, are you getting them from the phoenix gauge or a digital gauge like a merc monitor?

Sponsor here on BBC. Just make sure all your information, is accurate when you give it to him. Id also reccomend getting a merc monitor so you know for sure what the rpms are. Those gauges can be a bit off.

Dumb question but won’t the atlas gauge not mean a whole lot if you don’t have the p2p weighted against it?

Not a dumb question. You should always know what the gauge is in relation to what the actual p2p is.
