I had a 1994 GMC 1500 2x4 regular cab long bed with that engine. I put everthing I owned in a tandem axle Uhaul trailer and it pulled fine. Granted it was not a long haul, maybe 100 miles but I was impressed with how it did. And this was back in about 1995 when the truck was new. I'd guess the current ones are even more capable.

Not recommended to tow that much weight in OD. Use lower gear.

it's a very tough motor for its size. I had a 95 Astro van that I towed with for 14 years, surprising torque. Its just an old school 350 with 2 cylinders chopped off and a balance shaft added.
