Sierra water pump kit quality?

I'm wondering if the Sierra water pump kit is as good as the O.E. parts? It's nice to be able to save a few bucks but not at the expense of a motor.

The water pump is one place I would not use anything other than the Merc brand. It's just to critical of a part to take chance.

I have used the Sierra kit on the 1995 225 merchant I had. I used it once, and then I used OEM from boats.net its worth the extra few $. Go OEM if it's available.
