    Solix 15 battery size

I'm about to install 2 solix 15's on my two year, group 24 interstate battery.

I'm wondering if I should step up the battery to a larger battery. Group 27 https://www.interstatebatteries.com/...ategoryid=true

or maybe even a group 31 agm or something.

    What's your thoughts.

yes to the group 31 or larger. Be sure to turn the back light display down from 10 to 7 or 8 when not in use. Will extend battery time.

With nothing else is on the battery, You will discharge that battery in 9 hours or less.(down to 10.5 volts) Using standby cuts the draw in half but but still does not have to boot up when you want it.

When you say "that battery" .. are you referring to my existing group 24? The Group 27? or the Group 31?

I’d step up to a 31 series agm as well or go all out for a 100ah relion lithium

STAY AWAY FROM INTERSTATES, THEY ARE PURE GARBAGE!!!!!

Now, get you a 31 size AGM from NorthStar/X2 or Deka and you'll be fine. I'm getting four NorthStar/X2 31 AGM's in the new boat...

If you can swing the coin on lithiums, go for it!

Depends on who’s. I got a great deal on my relions, but they are still around 40-50% more expensive than the top end agm’s

Plasma, I would just buy a battery for the electronics. Get the biggest one you can fit in there. You don't need to get anything fancy. Descent deep cycle marine battery. I don't think you want to risk a dead starting battery. bob

haha, no kidding.. unless I jumped the battery off the trolling motor batteries.. HA. I thought about putting a set of jumper cables on board.

I also considered just adding a dedicated battery. I'm not sure where I'd put it... my boat is set up for 24 volt trolling with 3 batteries.. but I do have a 4 battery charger...

Actually, I might have a spot just for it!

Top end agm’s are $400. Call this guy and tell him I sent you. You won’t get a 100ah for $600 though

Plasma.24 volts with 3 batteries? 2 in parallel? How to you have them hooked up? Not sure there is a correct way to do that. Bob
Duh. I hope you meant the 3rd is your starting battery. I am too literal thinking at times.

no no no.. 24 volts (2 batts for trolling) + cranking battery = 3 batteries in total.

My boat is an 03 boat, was never setup for 4 batteries total from the factory.

but when i bought the boat, the previous owner has modified it for 4 batteries. So I bought a new 4 bank charger.. but later reset the rear end to the stock setup with only 3 batteries total.

as a follow up, I did end up picking the x2 I linked above up a local battery+ store. I haven't installed it all yet, but I'm confident in this battery for sure.

And I'm considering adding this battery as a 4th battery for electronics only. But I'm not sure if this is absolutely needed to do.
