If you choose to return to default settings I assume (use that word loosely) that one would have to recalibrate the trolling motor?

Not sure what you're asking. What settings are you trying to override/get rid of.

I just want to go through the set up process myself, I feel like my dealer may not have been thorough or missed a step. I decided on the Ultrex while my boat was at the dealer waiting on a new trailer (accident), I asked them to run the boat as a precaution (after the accident) when the trailer arrived and the troller was on. Feel like the spotlock may be off, just want to start over for peace of mind. If you reset to default settings I guess you would have to do the calibration, keel offset, etc again...
dont forget the boat scale setting
keel setting? on a t/m. I've seen that on a gps/ chartplotter.
Ok, so just go through the setup process on the remote of turning the circle and entering the keel offset. When you reenter something on the remote, it overides the previous setting. The heading sensor will already be paired with the unit. That's a one time thing.

You can always do the celebration again just to make sure - it only takes a minute or two
And Troy is correct make sure you set the boat scale for the size/weight of your boat
I have a Skeeter ZX250 and set the scale to -2
Last but not least is the location of the heading sensor - if there is magnetic interference this will cause issues
Use a compass to see if there is a magnetic field at that location
Watch this video to see the easiest way to check for that
"The handicapped angler"
Seems this is only a problem/issue when you utilize the "Link". I'm not having a problem with Lowrance graphs and don't have "Link"

What problem? I don’t have any and I have link
I forgot to mention that the "Sensor Cal" screen DOES NOT appear on my remote, thought it may disappear after the motor had been calibrated thus another reason to restore defaults, any thoughts? Software update?
Was there ever an answer to this. I have a new boat. New ultrex. When I went to calibrate using the ipilot remote “sensor cal” option doesn’t show
