Unless it's really complicated I agree fix it yourself. The more you learn about everything on your boat the better off you will be in a pinch. I get all my parts directly from Minn Kota. I have a spare of almost everything for my Maxx. I have heard good things about Coastline Power.
Another vote for Lockeman's. They are in Delray, which is not the nicest part of town, but they took good care of me when my Ulterra motherboard decided to go bye bye (replaced under warranty)...
