    I just found out I'll be in NOLA the middle January. What's the

    redfish bite like that time of year? Thinking about getting a guide and fishing for a day. Might go all the way down to Venice.

    It's good. You can make a easy short trip to Chalmette or drive a little farther to Delacroix or Lafitte.

    It'll be easy to find reds in mid January. Deeper holes and canals should be the ticket.

    Venice is the best by far!! But Delacroix is half the drive and plenty of reds and bass to be found easily... unless you're not bringing a boat and doing a guide, do Venice...
