After you do your 2 circles and the you got to calibrate the offset and trolling motor is parallel with the keel. Say for instance it says -5 do you go ahead and hit set or do you move the head to 0 the hit set? Reason I ask is mine seems to drift more than I think it should before it goes back to the spotlock point.
May need to adjust Boat Scale for your boat.

re do the circles the smaller you can make them the more accurate the spot lock will be... I do mine I get the boat going in the tiniest circle possible first then do the calibration. it seems to have gotten mine better.
my old smaller boat it stayed within a foot or two tops this 20 foot boat not so much but much better with a smaller circle
