    Garage space for a Puma/Cougar

I’m looking into moving into a bigger Cat. Was hoping to gain some details on space needed for storing one in a garage. Right now I have an 03 Sabre without a break away tongue that I park at an angle with the motor trimmed down and angled. I have about 6” leftover give or take. From the back of my Merc 150 to the garage door I’m looking at roughly 23’. I’m looking into moving into a 15-17 year model.

    Thanks

My 17 Puma measures 22'4" with motor down and tongue open. I've kept it in my double garage. It's tight but fit.

I my caracal fits in my 20x20 garage angled. Have about 3.5' space to still walk out of the front of the garage, and sneak my atv in and out past it.

Mine is 32 ft deep. Room to move around and plenty with the tongue folded in.

Dimensions on the web site should be very accurate.

2011 puma, 250 ProXS with a jackplate. Fits in 22x22 garage parked on an angle with swing away tongue folded. Can walk between door and front of boat no problem.

At one time I had a garage that was 26' deep. I was able to get the CougarFTD/225 Opti, straight in with engine trimmed down and tongue folded. I had about 2" in front to spare and a foot to spare in the back by the engine. I traded the Cougar on a Baycat back then, was able to get it into the garage as well, just had about 6" to spare in the back and the door just barely closed.

My barn up North is 23 feet....Puma FTD fits no problem. I have wheel chocks in the back of the tires that I back the trailer to...I have about 2 inches in the back and about 4-6 inches up front...I push it in the last 6 feet or so by hand..

Some outboards need to be stowed tilted up!

We don't know of any outboard that requires being stored trimmed up. All are draining water jackets and gear cases that settle in the lower sections.

A good set of go jacks will help you maneuver your boat in smaller garages. They will allow you to angle the boat more then you can when simply backing in.
