Because with live wells full and 3 people in boat and running in only 2-3 feet of water I cannot get the boat on plane.

I run a 3 blade fury 24 and when fully loaded mine takes a minute to plane also. I just ordered a 4 blade fury 24 so we'll see if that helps.

Getting on plane in 2-3' of water in TX is taking a mighty big risk of major damage to hull and/or LU ... just sayin.

You absolutely can not get the maximum performance out of a V-20 without a hydraulic jack plate. It’s a necessity.

My V20 has an almost instantaneous hole shot with near zero bow rise. There are a lot of variables though that play into that. I have a 250 Yamaha SHO on an Atlas plate and RELiON lithium batteries. I start off with the plate all the way up at 20 and drop down to 13 as it planes.

    Yikes!

I've spent days on unknown lakes idling around before ever getting on plane just so I know what's under me.

    Thanks for the heads up!

If you have a good 24 fury 3 blade and can’t get out of the hole something else is going on with a 2016 V20.

I have been in the original posters boat. It is a very nice, loaded down V20. Power poles, 4 group 31 Interstate batteries, traditional fishing seats, 12" bob's Jackplate with hole shot plate. It has no problem with hole shot on 24 fury 3 blade. It planes off in 3 to 4 seconds easily. His concern was with 3 200lb+ people sitting in the bench, livewells loaded, and water in the bilge from livewell overflow. That's alot of weight for any boat and solution is pretty much the same for any boat. Limit the weight or move something/someone forward.

In that case prop with a 23 or less high five. Instant hole shot.55 or 60 mph max at 6000 rpm.
