I have a 96 '18 elite, the only thing I ran into was a pvc pipe on the port side of your cut that has 2 wires in it that I believe went to the bow running lights, just cut through it and splice them together. To be safe if you have a panel on front take it off and see if maybe you can get a light in there and maybe snap a picture with your phone or use a mirror. Don't drop your phone in there!!

Do you a flush mounted graph up front? If so you can remove it to see where the wiring is located and to check if anything is in the way.

I added one to my 2004 188 with no problem. Wide open under deck.

Best to talk with someone with your model. Different models may have differing layouts....
