what Jackplate size for 1991 Champ 190DC?

going to be swapping out the underpower 150 Mercury Blackmax to a 200efi, how do i determine what size or setback jackplate do i need if i want to get the most speed out of the new 200efi motor?

Most likely going to be a 6"-8" plate but I would wait for pat to chime in.

6” if you have cable steering.
    8” hydraulic.
    Rapid jack manual.
    Bob’s hydraulic.

Get the champ offset if you choose rapid jack.

Cables won’t stretch enough for an eight. And the small difference isn’t worth replacing steering cables.

thank you, I run a 8 incher on my 01 187 with cables and did cut another hole in the "fastback transom " to make the cables have a lazy bend to
    the motor.
