    Gatorhyde paint

My trailer has the gatorhyde coating. There is an option when you order your boat for paint over gatorhyde. Has anyone had there trailer painted after buying it? As most of us know, you can't get the trailer shiny after you wash it. It has that dullish gray color. Just wondering if there's a special paint.

When I ordered mine back in 2013, I ordered the paint over g'hyde, and added pin striping and clear coat also. Very easy to wipe dry, and still as shiny as brand new. I would think this option is still available.

paint may not stick so well after the fact, they do it right after the gator hyde is applied, I have several friends who use tire shine, after a few coats they really shine and last a few months, it keeps the dirt from sticking
the painted is defiantly the way to go from the factory they just rinse off and keep shinning

works well and shiney but gets dirty really easy because it’s greasy and dirt sticks to it. I have tried it before. I wonder if like a silicone would work and then dirt wouldn’t stick to it?

I use tire dressing like McGuires or Black Magic in a spray bottle and wipe off. The stuff works great!

The water beads up after spraying the Black Magic so to answer your question, I do not think it all comes off the trailer.

    That's a week for me.

    During the summer anyway.

Best product to use is Mothers “Back to Black”. Most dealers use this when cleaning up a trade-in for resale. Will make it look brand new....for a while.

Use a water based product such as protect all. The ones you guys are recommending are all oil based. Guess where that ends up when you back in the water.

Remember Dawn will take everything off and out of the trailer coating which leads to the dry look everyone’s tryin to prevent....in my business Mother’s Back To Black is the best all round product I’ve found.

Keep the black magic off your clean concrete. Will stain. It did shine up my trailer nicely. Used simple green to clean up the concrete.
