Mercury Smartcraft System Monitor Kit?

I have a 2008 Procraft 210 Super Pro with 2008 Mercury PRO XS 250 and was considering purchasing a smartcraft monitoring system. Currently I have stock gauges that show generic vitals such as water pressure and volts but was wondering if the smartcraft would be beneficial? I found the SC 1000 model for under $200 on ebay and it looks fairly simple to install. Does anyone have an opinion or familiar with the installation?
