    Need help setup

I just purchased my first triton a 2000 tr21 it had an Evinrude motor changing to Mercury . I'm have two questions.
    1. Do I have to change all the gauges to make them work with different motor?
    2. How high do I set my jack plate. I'm putting a 200 mercury 99 model motor on it.

    Thanks for for any help!

200 HP is too small. You should get a 250 HP.

Prop to pad should be 2"-2.5" depending on lower unit and water pressure.

What is that hull rated for 225?
the 200 will be ok you might have holes hot issues.

Get an 8" jack plate and a 24" trophy to put on it. It won't be too fast with the 200 2.5 efi but it might hit 63-64. Tach will work if you change the setting on the back but the trim gauge may not work. Water pressure gauge will work too.

Boat will definitely be slow and have a bad loaded holeshot with a 2.5 liter motor.

That boat is rated for a 250, That boat will be way under powered but good luck with it. Might try a trophy plus with that set up but that is just a guess as I have never seen a 21 with a 200 on it.

I believe In 2000 that was a 20'5" hull that weighed only 1500 lbs and was rated for 225 max.
i think you will be upper 60's maybe low 70's . You might have slow hole shot but you can experiment with some different props

it would be awesome if you could get to low 70's but I have my doubts with a 200.

Never ever going to hit 70 MPH, with a 2.5 liter 200 HP, and a fishing load. IMHO

I don't think the 2.5 has enough ass to carry the bow to 70.

Maybe not . I think that is a fast light hull comparable to a tr196 and they will run in the low 70's with the 200.
I believe the early tr21 was a 1500 lb 20'5" hull which later on was the tr20 and was a rocket with the 225 or 250
