    Friday Fun

Heading out on LSC Friday for one last go for smallies. Heading out near Grassy to fish around the Muskie hunters. Anyone been out lately or have tips for bass in 35’ water?

Not sure of the bass action around grassy. Blade baits and slow, long pause jerks would be what id try. If your up for a little driving, the hot ponds on Erie were hot this week. 63 degree water temps and lots of LMB hugging the shorelines.

Some day I’m gonna hit you up on the hot ponds! Again I have duty in the afternoon, so gotta stay local. May go hit the entrance to south channel and hop 1/2 blades around the wrecks again

Don’t know for sure. I typically launch from Selfridge; those were all in as of 3 days ago. That’s where I’m headed today but I am running down to 9 mile area. I’ll check them out and post

Im stationed at Selfridge- helo pilot. Don’t need fancy fishfinders- I just mentally note where people are when I fly over . Water temps still 42-46, with Anchor Bay being warmest. Caught decent largemouth in Clinton River by 94 bridge, excellent umbrella rig bite for smallies in 6-10’ up by Grassy.

I’ve seen a ton of boats out there and talked to a few of them. Lots of people using mister twisters in green or perch minnows jigging with 1/4 and letting the winds blow them around. I have to work all this week and the weather outlook had me skeptical, so the boat probably won’t see water till late March.

I live on Union Lake. There is a Brave Sole out there this morning trolling for Walleye I guess. He keeps disappearing in the snow squalls.

Yeah, had mine winterized yesterday. So bummed. Now to fix my trailer lights and maybe a couple new tires on my trailer. Any suggestions for good tires for a single axle trailer?
