Going to the Navico site they have removed all HDS Gen 3 units. They still have Gen 3 Carbon units listed for sale. Does anyone know if they discontinued the regular HDS units in favor of Carbon units?

That's the route it's going...they still have stock but they are getting phased out as you should see more sales come christmas and new year...

They always have a phase out period for older units. Carbon will replace Gen three, then two or three months later the new Lowrance units will be released, and the Carbon units are outdated, been that way for years.
i just looked and it said lowrance HDS live is discontinued WTF.
Of course. Natural progression. HDS Pro is the current unit. There are still Lives available from different retailers. But Pro is the new model. Same as any product.
