Repowering: from merc 250 pro xs to Yamaha f300 prop?

Repowering my bay boat from a 2009 merc 250 pro xs to a 2017 Yamaha f300. Both are 25” shafts and 1.75 gear ratio. From what I have read the merc prop HP is 272-275, yammie is around 280-290 hp. I was planning on trying the same prop from the merc, PT OFX 3 blade 20p. Was spinning it 5650 rpm @ 54 mph. I will be braking in the new motor, does anything think the same prop will not work for this application? I’ve test a bunch of props and the OFX has been the best all around for my old setup. Thoughts?

If you used it on a 2 stroke it might over vent on take off but I'd try it for break in. Yamaha was running a 21" prop on their test boat that weighed about the same as yours.
