The thought process here is, i want to up grade to a19- 20 footer with a 225-250 motor. looking for input on this for you smart people. I am strongly leaning Bass Cat...
if you feel that something else is better please share and state why...
if you are Cat person which model and why?

    Buy what makes you smile.
I don't own one, but you can't go wrong with a Cat.

Best advice ever! They're all made by hand (pretty much) and made in America so you can't go wrong. I don't own one either (Cat) but you won't regret buying any of the major brands out there today.

As far as BCB it really matters what you want in a boat. They have many choices in the 19-20’ range. Do you want something more sporty like an eyra or something wider like a caracal. They have 5 boats in the 19-20’ range with 225-250 hp limit.

Take a hard look at the Lynx if your leaning toward a BCB.

I'd look at the caracal. It's a sweet boat!

If you want a 20’ sports car that’s a great all around boat, buy an Eyra.
If front deck space is your main concern, go with a Caracal.
My next boat will be an Eyra.

The 20TRX is a sweet boat. I like everything about mine. The storage, the ride, etc... But if ur leaning to a cat, I won’t try persuading u to anything else. I hear nothing but good things from basscat owners. And the Caracal seems to have a lot of good reviews. Have fun in the search.

Really would like the best of both...
I am not limited to a BCB, but do really like their fit and finish. Was leaning Phoenix but after seeing the finish on a cat...

what i truly want is a ride that will run in the 70's with a tournament load and a 2XX class motor. Oh and 19-20 foot so it fits in my garage

I've got a Cougar and it does everything I want. It's 20,6" and will do mid 70s easy. The cougar is the same hull as the Puma, just a different deck layout. Customer service and construction are top notch. There is a lot of great options in the BCB lineup you won't be disappointed with any decision

Don't know much about the cats except what others have said, everyone seems to be happy with them. Customer service is something that means a lot to me. If you're buying a new boat you're getting ready to spend a fortune and I would want the warm and fuzzies when I think about the company and resale. Basscat and Ranger seem to be at the top of customer service and resale. I'm not knocking any other brands and I think most of them are fine boats, but spending $70K and up I'm not taking any chances. Have fun making the decision. Larry

Don't know the year or basscats but I upgraded my 96 champion from a 2.5 liter 200 to a 3 liter 200. I love power upgrade but the added weight makes sit so low in the rear that water will fill the catch tray via the drain ports if someone on the back deck. I don't think I could add power poles.because of this. Just a thought.
