    • Line: 8/17#
    • Lure: 1/4 – 3/4 oz
    • Length: 7′
    • Power: 3 – Medium
    • Action: Fast

    Detailed Specs:

    • Average Rod Weight: 4.1 oz
    • Handle Length: 7.75″
    • Number of Guides: 8 + Tip
    • Kigan Master Hand Z Series 3D Guides with braid resistant inserts
    • Mid Micro guide train for all around fishability
    • Handbuilt in OUR Aiken, South Carolina rod building plant

Thanks for replies guys, this is a program from my work where i can only get certain rods. Really only big manufactures are on the list. Id love to go the alx route but its not an option. Anyone use the abu garica villain 2.0?

Yes I have the Abu Garcia Villain 2.0 and it's an amazing rod. I have the 7' Medium that I use for shakey heads, wacky rigging and light swimbaits. The handle is extremely comfortable. I honestly wish all of my spinning rods were the Villain 2.0

With the Megabass XX rods on sale at The Tackle Trap from $175 to $199 each, you should have a look at the XX Drop Shot rod. It's an awesome finesse spinning rod all the way around and for $175 shipped, you won't find a better rod. Handles jerk baits, wacky rigs, drop shots, neko rigs, ned rigs, and is excellent with small treble cranks like a Shad Rap. Check them out at the links below!

I was hoping Hammer would release the new spinning rods (with Winn grip like the drop shot rod) soon since but still no definite time.

Looking at prob trying an ALX in the spring, either the Soul 7 or Slot 7

It would be hard to pass up those megabass rods on sale at the tackle trap.

If Fenwick is in the list I’d recommend an Aetos, they have a 7’ medium fast, and a 7’ 3” medium X fast, retail is $199, light, extremely sensitive and lifetime warranty.
