Fished Thursday and Sunday water temp 45 at State Dock. Caught 15 only 1 over Thursday. Caught 21 Sunday no overs and another 15 or so 12 to 14 inch spots. Jigs and shakey heads.

Truck is fixed and I'm going tomorrow, may stay the night and fish Friday too depending on what the forecast says.

Ever had one of those days you should have just stayed home? That was my day yesterday. Scratched the hell out of my boat on the dock first thing in the morning. I caught 1 under on 3 bites, then to top it off I slipped on the ramp getting the boat on the trailer and went in to the drink. The weather was perfect, just a bad day for me I guess. Hope someone caught them.
man that sucks. I got a huge gouge there last year off a dock. Some days are just better working instead

Yeah, just not my day. Jig bite was dead. I did have more than 3 bites. They were thumping an underspin and white fluke as soon as it hit bottom but I think they just had the tail in their mouth. Everytime I'd set the hook there'd be nothing there. DH won this round but I'll get her next time.
It was a very slow day for me as well. We caught 3 fish ALL DAY... Two dinks, but at least one decent bite.

Well at least I wasn't the only one. I would have liked a little more but other than that the conditions were perfect.

What did you catch them on?
I caught most on a jig, but the big one actually came while I was experimenting cranking. Lol
They will be on that shale one day and then the chunk rock the next. Five feet one day and 25 the next. When you do find them it can be magical. That is smallie fishing for you.
