Really depends on head unit and transducer. In the early days of Gen2 I tried using 800 in special situation but even then 800, when used with Gen2 MFD/LSS-2, was pretty much useless.
With LSS-2 or StructureScan 3D, 455.
With LSS-1 and module, 800.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the LSS 1 was a true dual frequency ducer....
