    SeaStar thread rod

Anybody ever replaced the threaded rod on the back of the SeaStar steering?
Had to remove mine and of course some jack leg had bent the threaded rod when they mounted it....
Or this jack leg when he took it off!
Either way, just wondering if they are easily replaced. I think I saw an allen type end and hoping they just thread off easily.

its 1/4-20 threaded rod.You can pick it up at local hardware store in 3ft pieces, cut it to length. i replaced mine with bolts, just be sure you get stainless steel!

That's what I was hoping somebody would say. Bolts would be my preference. The threaded rod was way too long.
And yes....I got a whole lot of stainless steel to buy by the time all the replacements are done.
    Thanks skeeter91.

And ridgerunner, I appreciate the offer.

Screw nut on. Slip socket over it. Straighten it out

double nut the studs and give them a little shot of PB Blaster (stuff is awesome) where they thread in and the studs should turn right out!
