Jack plate size on 201 XLE

I have a 2009 201 XLE with a 250 HO ETEC. I have a six inch fixed slidemaster jackplate and contemplating going to an Altas Hydraulic. Should I stay with a six inch or go with the eight inch?

Stratos would warranty up to an 8" nothing over. I had an 03 185 with an 8' plate & an 04 285 magnum with a 6' plate & the 8' was better handling all the way around. My current boat has an 8 too & i wouldn't want a 6 personally after experiencing the difference between the two. I'd go 8 & not give it a second thought if i were you.

i ran a 12" plate on my 201 and loved it. It was the best handling boat. I know stratos on warranty up to 8" but now since they are no longer in business I would put a 10" on it and rock on!
