What’s your favorite winter time body of water?

    Also why?

What’s the winter fishing like down here in NC? I assume the lakes don’t ice up. Can you really boat fish all year? I’m from NJ, only moved down in September, I still have ice fishing gear lol

Fish year round--water usually doesn't get below about 42--- just have to be careful of ice on the ramps and docks walkways. You need to gift your ice stuff to a Northern friend/famiy.

Welcome to the south. I have a lot of family around Flemmington. Do not need ice gear here.

Winter fishing can be very good if you dont mind the cold. Some of my best days fishing have been between December and Feburary. You might not catch as many fish but most are good quality.

Mine use to be the rivers down east, Chowan, Roanoke, etc. But since Floyd they are not as productive for me. Falls would be my pick because it is only 1 hour to the ramp and offers quality bass.

Belews is probably my favorite. On 30 mins and sometimes I can catch them good with a spoon or blade. No big ones, but if you find them you can catch a few. Jordan for a good fish in winter for me.

I don't like winter fishing. The cold does not bother me so much but the low amount of bites does. If I lived closer to Hyco I'd fish there all winter.

SALE THE HARD WATER GEAR --- want be needed here. yes you can catch fish all year hear as long as the water doesnt get too muddy ... if most lakes get below 50 degrees you can go to lakes like Norman, mt Island Hyco and take advantage of the hot water discharges or go fish for white perch, crappie or stripers

Thanks for the winter info guys. Norman is the only lake I know of or at least been to since moving here. I usually launch at Hager creek and I always see the power plant. Looking forward to some all year fishin without having to stand on shaky ass thin ice.
