    2017 Z18

Thinking about having a jackplate put on my Z18. When the tie down rings are removed from the transom what does everyone use to fill the holes?

Why not just leave the rings? Cheapest option for sure, other wise silicone but that would look like crap so you left with a fiberglass shop filling/ fixing the gelcoat but expensive and probably not perfect forever.

My atlas plate came with new rings that bolt to the side of the plate. The old rings have to come off because they aren't spaced far enough appart to clear the jack plate.

Maybe a different hull but on my z7 I installed a 10 jackplate and just left them there and are the ones I use to secure the boat...

Looks like the rings are to close for j/p to fit between them.

Correct. at least with the Atlas 8" I installed, they were. The jack plate actually covered the holes once installed. after we removed the rings, we sealed the holes with 5200. Then, as per the instructions from Atlas, we used silicone between the plate and the transom.

TXZ18...I just installed the same jack plate on mine and have a couple of questions. I used the top hole on the transom and the second hole on the motor. Which holes did you use and how high is your plate running when on plane??
