Do you have enough gear for me?

Yes Dad, I have enough gear for you.

My dad's rods and tackle is 300 miles away and we are going fishing tomorrow since the weather is supposed to be nice. He wondered if I had enough stuff for him. Going to introduce him to the Ned Rig.

If my dad were still alive he would absolutely chit at the amount of gear I have to go fishing. And most of it is just along for a boat ride.

I hear that, I am fortunate enough to still be able to spend time with my dad.
He laughs every time he tries to put his rods in the boat and can't find a spot.
Lucky he doesn't see the garage wall after all the rods are loaded in the boat....lol

My dad passed when I was 9. He would have never let me spend what I have on tackle. He was one who didn’t think artificial lures caught fish. I just wish I could take my mom for a ride. I never got to take her since I bought my boat this year before she passed away in September.

My brother and I took Dad fishing for a Month on lake Champlain, He was 86 and in good health but could only take a few hours a day in the boat. We put him on some good smallmouth and he had a ball and would laugh like a kid. He passed a week after that last trip from heart failure. That trip was 10 years ago and I think about it all the time. Treasure every moment you spend with your loved ones, you just never know how much time you will be blessed with.

I treasure each and every day I get to fish with mine, and these threads just reinforce those feelings.

While my dad never asked that, I did have a buddy I invited fishing ask me, I chuckled and said yeah I think I got it covered

Yea, my dad died almost three years ago. I have almost stopped fishing, only went out 3 times this year. I still love it, but it's just not the same with out him.
