    Hunting with the 6.5's

Anyone had a chance to use the 6.5 Creedmor on any deer size game yet?

I've got a new Bergara 6.5 that I bought for huntin yotes this year, but just wondered how this round will perform on some larger game..?

I do not know how either of those compares to 6.5 swede but the swede has been getting the job done for a long time. IMO the finest cartridges on the market are the 6.5 swede and the 270 Winchester.

    USA

Should be great if you put the bullet in the right place.

I shot a 9 pointer this year with a 6.5 Creedmoor at 200 yards. Ammo was 129 grain Hornady Interlock at 2717 fps. The bullet took out
the top of the heart and one of the lungs. It ran 50 yards after the hit and piled up dead.

Good to hear about the 6.5 Swede, Transom. I had found one at my LGS in a Ruger #1, but when I decided I wanted it, 3 days later, he had already sold it. However, he had gotten a 700 Classic in the Swede in so I put it on lay a way. I have always been interested in that little caliber. The only other 6.5 I have is the 264 Win. Mag. so it will be quite a difference in the 2.

I also have a 264 Win Mag, and it is a great flat shooting round.

I have used my 6.5 Creedmoor to take a buck antelope, a whitetail doe and a whitetail buck this year. All were one shot with great bullet performance.

Took a nice 10-point with my S&W AR-10 in 6.5 Creedmoor a few weeks ago. 129 grain Hornady. Hit him right in the shoulder and he piled up stone dead after about 30 yards. First one but I'm very happy with it. Great gun. Great round.

6.5 Creed is the hot caliber now, lots of deer here in Texas have been taken with the 6.5.

My father has hunted with 98 Swedish 6.5 for years, when the .260 came out, he got the ruger stainless carbine. he has been slaying deer with. No issues. great calibers.

I have shot a few deer with my 6.5 Swede and it did the job just fine.

I use the 6.5 creedmoor. Use hand loaded hornady 143gr ELD-X bullets and it does a great job on deer. Have used my Ruger Precision Rifle and this year used my new Bergara B-14 HMR. I really like the Bergara a lot. It seems to be as accurate as the Ruger.

I will let you know as soon as mine shows up...should arrive this week at my FFL. Bought a Savage 11 in 6.5 Creedmoor for my boys to use. It might make a trip to Wyoming next year for speed goats as well.

I use the hand loaded 143 gr ELD-X Hornady bullet with excellent results in my Savage 6.5 Creedmoor also. Light recoil and flat trajectory with a .623 B.C. What is not to like?
