    Dan it’s pretty easy to check the gear ratio mark the prop and the crank put it in gear turn the crank until the prop turns one revolution. Crank will turn 1 3/4 if it’s 1.75 slightly less if it’s 1,62.
    Yes I do know he is running 1.62 gear ratio but a 28 on his boat will turn harder than on my 1.75 so it will feel like a 26 on my boat.
    A 28 + 1.75 gear will have a better hole shot and less top end.
    A 28 + 1.62 gear will have a fair hole shot and better top end.

    And easiest way to turn the crank? Starter but kill switch tripped?

    Yeah I guess you could do it that way but I prefer to use a socket and a long breaker bar or ratchet. No I won’t get to run that prop until March probably. Boat is resting for the winter.
