I really hate where the spare tire is mounted now. anyone have any ideas on mounting the spare trailer tire anywhere other than perpendicular to the trailer? I'm thinking about trying to mount it under the bow of boat horizontal. I have moved the winch as far up as possible on tongue and tire will fit however not enough clearance for trailer jack handle. Would it hurt to move jack back on trailer frame about 6 inches from original location? any suggestions and/or thought are appreciated.
I have mine on top of the frame under the bow. I moved the jack forward a few inches. Then put a 2" X 2" piece of wood between the two marker lights and made a J bolt out of a 3/8" carriage bolt that goes in the hole in the frame on through one of the wheel lug holes with a big washer and nut to secure it.
