Nrx 895c jwr for Flippin and Crig? Opinions??

Any thoughts on this Rod for flipping and possible Carolina rig? Mostly 3/4oz Crig and 1oz flipping or other uses.

    Thanks Chris

No problem on any of those applications, it will handle them all very nicely.

I use mine primarily for 1/2-3/4 oz flipping baits and it works awesome. Never tried a 1oz but it should handle it fine.

It will handle it fine but the balance of this rod is poor. You can add a counter weight to help but unless you are in heavy vegetation, I think it overkill. I use NRX 894 for what you describe everywhere but in heavy Lake Okeechobee salad and it works fine. Still, I use a butt cap on my 894's to get the balance to a good place. I could not get the 895 to balance well even with the same weight.

I'd also take NRX lure ratings as a "guide". I have a Kister Z-bone 7'3H sitting right beside my 894's and it has rating up to 1.5oz. The NRX and Kistler have almost same power. I would not fish either rod over 1.25oz and I think between .75 and 1oz great
