Praying for the best. With all the modern navigation equipment and black box type recovery type systems how could they not have a pinpoint location on the sub and at least attempt recovery efforts. That technology shouldn't be that expensive even for Argentina.

Yeah but in 650’ of water how do they just cruise up and recover?

Allot of folks thought the same about the missing Malaysia airlines flight MH370...the vastness of the earth under the water is probably beyond anyone's true comprehension.

Hoping they find them in time.

I am not well versed on it but we have put men on the moon surely we could recover someone in 650 feet of water. Again i am not in the know about the technology and i may be just one of the wishfull thinking.

I work with a guy that was a submarine Navy man for almost 20 years. When I see him I think of these guys and can't bring myself to talk about it around him.

I hope they find them in time.

He won’t care. If he was a bubblehead, he’s got a weird sense of humor, is a smart ass, and can be counted on in a pinch.

Hmmm.. id say different subs have different depths. Theres a “crush “ depth that it will implode. I know some go 1000+ feet.

Yeah thats what I was wondering. I know there is a depth that the pressure is just too much.

What I find a little odd though is that they for whatever reason cant seem to communicate a position. I get that systems etc can go down even when you have multiple redundant systems. Seems though there would be the last ditch sorta "broken arrow" scenario where maybe they launch a floating beacon etc that says "hey crap just got real we need help." Something very basic and almost mechanical. Kinda like the emergency beacons ships have. Even if it floated off 10 miles before anyone arrived it narrows the massive amount of space needed to search down to the minimal.

Last i read a few minutes ago; one of the sailors family members referred to the sub as a ‘piece of crap’. Like it was antiquated/plagued with maintenance issues?........or possibly just misdirected grief from the family.........either way; sad stuff.

Braver folks than I on the submarine; that’s for sure!

Was there a recent development to this story?
I dont think it has officially been found but I read that they detected a sound that resembled an explosion around the same time as the last communication. They have since told the families that all are lost.
