Nut job and judging by the looks of that Steam powered "Rocket", this guys flight will be about as successful as the rocket Evil Knievel used to try and jump the canyon!
No one can be wrong that often so it has to be deliberate.
He may learn that the ground is quite hard and flat.

Im confused about the details. It said the rocket will only travel 1800 feet high, yet accelerate to 500 mph? How do you prove anything at 3/8th's of mile high?
Maybe he should have a chat with the RedBull jumper that stood 127K feet high

That article is chock full of winning one liners.
"Hughes only recently converted to flat-Eartherism, after struggling for months to raise funds for his follow-up flight over the Mojave."
"The Kickstarter raised $310 of its $150,000 goal."
“We were kind of looking for new sponsors for this. And I’m a believer in the flat Earth,” Hughes said. “I researched it for several months.”
“John Glenn and Neil Armstrong are Freemasons,” Hughes agreed. “Once you understand that, you understand the roots of the deception.”
"He won’t be able to test the rocket before he climbs inside and attempts to steam himself at 500 mph across a mile of desert air."
Good luck to him and my condolences to his family
A Steam Powered Rocket maybe this Dude ought to go try the Snake River Canyon as that's what Evel used in his attempt wonder if he would have made it if that darn parachute hadn't malfunctioned The question still remains did it really malfunction?
Do you get a sponsor's decal on this guys rocket or a patch on his space suit if you kick in some cash?
The trailer hitch is epic.
