Question Anyone ever hit the rev limiter? what's can I expect?

Current set up is a Bluewave 2000 Purebay 19'7" w/175 Suzuki, 10" manual jackplate.

I'm still playing with the engine height. Last run I throttled up to 6300 rpm and still have about 1/4 throttle left. If I push it more will the rev limiter eventually let me know I'm there?

Yes it will. I would increase my pitch on the prop.

IF you have a 4 stroke I don't think you can hit 6300. The rev limiter will hold you to 6100. Do you have a Suzuki tach? What are your prop dimensions?

I have a 2016 115atlss and on mine at about 6100 the rev light will come on but it doesn't stutter the engine. Is there a problem with mine.?

Heh Heh. I'd have to read your owners manual. The problem might be the controller of the throttle. If my red light came on I'd throttle back. Mine is a 175DF and I couldn't afford to replace it so I don't exceed 6100. You more than likely need a larger prop. I only run near 6100 if I need to get somewhere really soon due to poor planning, such as weigh-in.

That's what I did. But if I wasn't looking at the tach I wouldn't of known it. Maybe the light comes on first and if you go higher the buzzer will beep. I will have to check the manual.
