Need to know HP, 2.7L can use cable steering 3.4L cannot.
You could use the converter module and use all your old stuff but it is almost as much as buying the standard controls, for the little bit of added cost i would definitely go digital.
You might be able to use the old prop if you can get a G2 hub kit to fit it and it happens to be the right pitch.

200 non HO is a 2.7L, 200 HO is a 3.4L
The 200 HO is a much stronger engine, i believe the 2.7L 200 is only in the 190s HP and the 200HO is the full 220 HP.
Since the G2 HO's are all 3.4l, does that intimate that only changes in the EMM and maybe injectors is all the difference in 200 & 300 horsepower. In other words with a computer mapping and injectors can go from a 200HO to a 300 ?
different blocks
different exhaust tuning
different software
different rpms where developing power

To add to the guru's list 250HO and 300HP get water valve too. Injectors are all the same. As to to the OP, if you are considering a G2 and you are limiting your options to mechanical steering, then the Small Block 200HP can get the Trac+ stern and swivel assembly that allows a cable to be used. I would shout yourself new hydraulic steering at least and as mentioned i would go digital instead of the mechanical to digital conversion box. I agree the HO is a stronger 200HP, but I have used a couple of 2.7L G2 200HP's now and they are stronger than the G1 SB 200HP and are very nice running engines.
What are you repowering. I put a G2 200HO on my older Ranger and you cant pry the smiles off my face. I did the whole shebang, Hydraulic steering, new gages, clean rigging it is amazing....
