Hunted a new area this year that we have never stepped foot in prior to the season. Had a short window to get it done with only 4 days to hunt, before heading to my brothers hunt. Saturday was super windy with gust over 40mph and most of the deer stayed bedded until the evening.
Found a nice buck Saturday evening chasing does at 150 yards. We watched and videoed him for 20 minutes and decided to hold off and see what we could find.
Sunday morning we started in the same area as the buck from the night before, hoping some new bucks moved in to check on the does. We didn't see anything worth taking a look at that morning and decided to head to another area to glass some draws. Around noon we found my buck and another buck moving through a clearing from one thick patch of trees to another thick patch of trees. I pulled up and knew immediately he was not gonna get a pass.
