They are doing a great job.
Great job on a classic.
Looks great! Congrats. Would love to do a full resto on my 482V. She is not in bad shape, but seeing your's makes me jealous!
Can I ask where you got the new raised letters? They look good and mine need some help.
Thanks.

Thanks! I don’t have the new decals yet but have been talking to a few different places that can make them.
That first pic of the boat at the ramp is from a year ago, I will be sure to post many pictures of it finished, and I might even have to make a walk around video of it.
Thanks for the compliments guys, I will post more pics later on tonight. Right now I am going to hook on to the other boat and go try to catch a mess of crappie!
Great looking boat and well taken care of. Thank you for sharing those pics!

I like them both! Here's the fiberglass thread on the 518vx from last spring: http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread....834&highlight=
Danny now has the boat prepped for repairs and in this pic it is ready to be built back up with fiberglass. You can see how much has to be ground out to make a proper repair!
This is where the traditional deck cleat was mounted on the Port side near the bow. Those old school tie up cleats have always been know as "rod breakers".......a long time ago I installed some pop up cleats like the Z500c models use, filled the 4 holes with JB Weld and colored the epoxy with a red Sharpie. It worked but since we are going this far the holes are going to go away.
This is a big hole right next to the Port console that is getting filled in. An old 1994 model Lowrance GPS puck the size of a brick was originally mounted here, I had it covered by a rubber step pad to hide it. Away it goes.......
This hole, along with one just like it on the rear Starboard side and one at the bow was for the old "Anchor Reigns" that I removed long ago. I found some black plugs at the hardware store several years ago that did the job for a long time, but while we are at it they are going away too.
Here she is, all masked off.......
Mixing the chopped strand.......
Applied to the area to be repaired.......
Several layers of chopped mat are now applied to build it up and make it strong. The excess resin is soaked up by these progressive layers of fiberglass, and every layer is rolled out.
Danny said once he mixed the resin he would have about 14 minutes to work until it set up.......
On to the port side.......
Oh man, I've got a 492VS that could use a full resto. It's cracked all over after a fight with a tornado some years ago!
got any pictures of them
doing new seats and carpet?
Pro's Choice looks like a reasonable option when comparing a Ranger factory restoration!
Looks awesome. Just goes to show you our old girls still have a lot of life left in them.
