    Helix 9 connections

I am sure this has been asked many times but I cant find anything.
I am trying to link together a Helix 9 SI at the dash to a Helix 9 DI at the bow. Which cable or cables do I need to make this connection. The humminbird website shows a cable with threaded ends and my Helix does not have a place to connect this type cable.

    Thanks for any help.

The threaded cable is the basic Ethernet cable which comes in different lengths. The other cable is an adapter cable that connects the Ethernet cable to the unit. You would need one Ethernet Cable (AS EC XXE, Qty 1, XX=2,10,15,20,30ft) of suitable length and one Adapter cable for each unit (AS EC QDE, Qty 2).

Ok thats what I thought. Seems like they would just make a cable to go from unit to unit without having to get 3 cables. Thanks for the information.

The Ethernet cables are used with the discontinued XX8 models and the ION/ONIX/SOLIX along with Ethernet accessories with their threaded connections. The XX9 and Helix unit’s have quick disconnect Ethernet ports. With a common Ethernet cable, any combination of units can share data without having three different cable styles in those variable lengths. Makes more sense than what you propose.

Would that be the same cable and adapters for a Helix 10 Si Mega G2N to Helix 7 SI Mega G2N?

For a Helix 7 CHIRP SI GPS G2N and Helix 10 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G2N, yes.

Their is no MEGA Helix 7.

Gotcha...I just ordered it so I'm not quite up to speed on the lingo. Every time I buy one of these adapters I look to see where the gold bar is hidden.

If you're buying an adapter cable then you've already tripped over the gold bar (a MEGA unit)....LOL

The first use of the AS EC QDE cable was with the 700 HD series about 6 years ago to connect it to the 8X8, 9X8, 11X7, and 11X8 series unit’s.
