    Home made Pocket Lure Knocker

    Anyone use these?

I have seen some on the market but didn't know how well they worked. So I decided to make some myself to see... I'm not sure what size would work best... 3oz, 4oz, or 5oz?

These lay flat in your pocket or tackle box perfectly. I may paint them to block the lead from getting anything dirty.

The lure knocker i use is made by daiwa( http://www.daiwa.com/us/contents/acc/tools/index.html). its got chains hanging off of the bottom to catch treble hooks and its awesome. Yours look good. You will probably end up using the 5oz one the most

This type is not trying to catch or hook the bait, But to knock it off and pull down away from the snag... Get over the snag, Clip it on your line and let it fall to the bait. Shake if nessesary after. Reel up the lure and put the weight back in your pocket. I have the weights and chain models but are a pain to use compared to these.

Ive used this type before, don't get me wrong, they do work sometimes but ive also not been able to get a bait off and be forced to break it off and then you loose a lure, plus a knocker

I'm not worried about loosing some knockers... I'll just make more.

Great to see another way to make these - I use a bell or disk sinker (3oz), a zip tie and the end of a larger swivel - always have one handy - saved me a lot of tungsten...

I've made these too. They work, fairly well, but that snap swivel will really tear up your line.

all the time. I buy 2 oz bank sinkers from wally world and cable tie a snap swivel. they work great and if you lose it youre not out but a few cents.

I pour 2 ounce bank sinkers and use a plastic coated paper clip. Works more often than not and like the others if you lose options don't hurt the wallet.

21xdc I like those a lot. Any interest in selling me a couple of those. I'd assume the 5oz would probably be best. Maybe sell 5 of them. Let me know. I appreciate it.
