A 250hp sho. Because it can be flashed to 300hp! It would be one bad 2100! That's what want to do one day. JMHO

+ 1 on the 250 SHO. They also have a supercharger coming out that they say will make it a 450 hp. My boss has the SHO on his FX 20 Skeeter and when we use his boat in our weekly rodeo we might use 5 gal. of fuel. When we use my G we run through 20 gal. running the same spots. I'm running a 225 EFI. but I'm still 6 mph. faster with a full load. He's planning on getting his flashed as soon as the warranty runs out so he can out run me. Maybe !!

The yammie is a great motor, but it a bigger bore motor than the mercs, and even Jr will admit that his flashed 300 merc was faster than the yammie..Their lower units leave a lot to be desired for me..

LOL YES L.D. is correct, the mercury WAS 1 1/2 mile an hours faster on top end THAN the Sho. but what he forgot to tell you was the MERCURY 300XS had the Dave Bush kit on it , with a 7,000 limiter. light weight fly wheel, Dave Bush special cowling. and a Titus fixed lower unit. AND 4,000.00 DOLLARS MORE OUT OF MY POCKET. LOL . Only thing done to the SHO was it was flashed by HYDRO TECH. And as soon as i get L.D. 29 pitch Xob Hydromotive PROP from him the yamaha sho will be 2 mile AN hour faster than the MERCURY 300XS... LOL

I also believe you were running 5 gallons of gas no troller and one battery just to achieve your results.

I think I'm sold on the four strokes after owning a SHO. Always ran a Merc until this year. Maybe on day I might have to try a Verado

My 2011 Sterling stock with 27T1 3/4 tank gas ran 84+ Mike Price ran it when I traded in for 2012 Sterling which ran 1 MPH less than 2011 Sho doesn't need trimtabs to come out of hole with one person
