I had one, the only draw back is almost zero rod stowage, but she has a ton of dry stowage with a large live well. The boat will flat out run and drives like a sports car. I never had a single issue with the boat or motor, the guy that bought it from me is still fishing her weekly without a single issue as well.
If you don't mind keeping all your rods on deck it is a great boat.
what will this rig run with a 2000 Johnson 150 on the back?

No, the Javelins were more of budget boat compared to Straos. Both were made by OMC in the same factory and the Javelin was considered the sister to Stratos. Stratos came standard with more frills and thats about it. I bought my Javelin because I didn't feel the need to spend money on all the extra crap that I really didn't need and more crap (electronics mainly) to go bad.Originally Posted by j archer

my 93 stratos I just got rid of had rotted stringers in the gas tank area, in 2000 did they make any changes for the better or are they still wood. I had replaced the floor with no issues with stringers then the next year the stringers in the back went to crap

The 2000 Javelins are all composite so you should not have rot. Stuff can still break though. See if you can find out how many ours are on the motor. Real low hours it's likely the boat wasn't used much and still in great shape. Is it a boat thats been in NE ? Is there big rough water around there? Garage kept? Look inside the bilge at the transom corners and see if there are any cracks.

no hours its a 2000 Johnson its carbureted the dealer said they can not get hours. this one is located in missouri

Only way you can tell hours on it is if it had an hour meter was installed when new.
So this boat has a 2000 johnson 150, boat looks to be in excellent condition what’s this boat worth asking $8500

thats probably a bit much but if its in great shape ? considering what a new one that size goes for it may be the right choice for you.

Deck space is okay up front and massive in the back. That boat is very similar to mine and maybe 3"-6" longer.

Looks like its real clean (except for that mount someone screwed into the top gunnel, that sucks). Small front deck (1 guy space not 2). Looks like all the other 18' stratos/jav of the time.

Ya that mount kinda sucks, I’ve talked to so peeps on the engine and I’ve been told no worries, compression is good. On a budget it looks nice fo 18 yrs old. They also have a 07 skeeter I’m looking at but only has a 115
