Ranger boat store outside

I dont have space to store my boat inside. I have a ranger boat cover and sprayed 303 repellent on cover..

My question to everyone anything that i can do to help being stored outside?

I have a fan in mine and put fabric screen on the opening at the motor to help keep critters out.

I also store my 2001 520DVX outside, it won't fit in the garage, so I have my heavy Ranger cover on, and then I buy a heavy duty cover 16x30 from Wal-Mart, it touches from bottom of tires side to side, and front to back around breakaway tounge, and completely around engine . Been doing this since 07 my ranger cover still looks great and my tires and fenders never see the weather unless being towed. Heavy duty cover about $45 , hope this helps

Made a cover for hole by engine from old motor cover to keep animals out

Mine stays outside also.. i bought a $100 carport from harbor freight, and keep the cover on. i also cut the legs down on the carport, so its not so high. boat still looks great with no fade yet. i have to replace the cover on the carport every other year.

Put about a dozen bounce brand dryer sheets in the boat to keep mice out of it.

I use a boat dust cover and a large tarp

I put steal wool in all drain holes to keep mice out, they won't chew steel wool. also put dryer sheets or moth balls inside cover to help keep the critters out. Cover the opening back near motor to keep cats out. I also cover tiers to cut down on UV deterioration. The steel wool in the drain holes will also keep the wasps from plugging the drains with mud in the early spring.

If you use Damp Rid to not sit it on the carpet put something under it. I sit some on my carpet in the rod locker after a rain and it made a nasty mess that was hard to remove from the carpet. Moth balls dryer sheets sticky mouse traps and a box fan are good ideas and a shelter from Costco works great for my boat and will make the cover last much longer. I pull the fan and battery charger cords out and hanging outside the boat so it's easy to turn them on and off.
