    Prop Nut Torque

Can anyone tell me the prop nut torque setting for a 300HDPI?
I did a search but came up with nothing.

    TIA,

Yamaha specs were low IMHO, something like 39 or so, had the prop loosen up more times than I liked. So I started tightening to 70-80 or so with no more issues. I just get em tight with a long handled ratchet and call it good. This was with the Merc style insert props. CJ

With the merc hubs (Flo-torque) I wouldnt go over 55-60 lbs with out the forward (cone) bushing... but with it you can tighten it down 75+ with no issues.

Yea, I didn't really want to say it but I know both my ox with the hpdi lower and my buddies 300hpdi are in the 100+ range. We switched the 300 out to the aluminum racing insert after spinning the regular one out at high speed. Scary. Cj

I am probably in the 100+ range too. I usually torque to 80ish and then usually have to go more to get the hole lined up. But my prop is always surfaced so I'm just trying to avoid a broken shaft and losing a sweet prop. If I wasn't surfacing I'd be going to 60 and then whatever more it takes to square the hole.
