    Bearing Shot??

I was going to fish in the morning but I guess I should repair the seals on my 2013 trailer hub first. Probably not a good idea to tow 60 mile round trip with it in this shape.
Anyone have information on part #? I've changed out bearings and hub in the past but haven't dealt with the Vault Hubs.

Might be just the seal, but you won't know until it's taken apart.

There is another, maybe 2 other, threads with the bearing info in them.

Thanks Tom - So you wouldn't suggest a 60 mile round trip to the lake then...?

Probably not, depending on the max speed limit of the roads. And whether or not the wheel has movement when you jack it up and wiggle it, up and down, back and forth, in and out. Also turn it and listen for any grinding of the bearings. I have seen worse grease around rim and tire before.

If you jack it up and spin the wheel if it's still smooth and not grinding the barring may still be OK for now, swap out the vault cap with a barring buddy pump it full of greese and go fishing, 30 miles one way should be fine, but definitely pull it appart after that.
Also make sure that there is any play in the wheel left to right

No movement, no grinding. Filled with grease and capped. I’ll launch just before daybreak.

    Thanks gentleman!

Sounds like it should work out. Good luck on the fishies.

I was searching for info about the Vault bearing system and ran across this. I don’t think my pics show “A slight amount of seepage...”
    OIL LEAKAGE AT REAR SEAL

A slight amount of oil seepage at the rear seal is normal and necessary to lubricate the wiper lip of the seal for long life and sealing contaminants out. If excessive leakage is occurring, contact UFP for instructions.

I don't think so. She's parked until I recover from my achilles surgery which is tomorrow, then I'll tackle that project. Three weeks no weight then I walk with a boot for a week then a little therapy and hopefully I'm off and running agin.

Well, just be sure to allow yourself to heal fully so it won't be a bother in the future.
