    Custom Paint

Ok guys, here's the deal. I have a 2015 Harley Street Glide Special that is paid for but I want a new CVO and the wife is not on board with it. She wants me just do the upgrades I want and to do a custom paint job on it. I have already put about $5k in extras in the bike, but I hate the idea of putting more money into it when I know that I will never get it back unless I keep it.

    Thoughts or experiences....

You have answered you own question. Put 5k to 8k more in it and be done.

Custom paint usually lowers or retains same resale... rarely does it increase, so consider that $$$ burned, but it sounds like you already know that

I would (try to) explain to the wife that it would actually be cheaper (more financially responsible ) to trade up to the new ride VS burning $$$ on the current one... Good luck!

In all seriousness, if cost of upgrades to current bike is even close to equal the cost of trading up, the answer is simple... but convincing wife might not be as simple haha

Yeah, my dealer couldn't find me a cobalt blue 17' CVO, so that idea is out. Plus I decided not to paint it right now either. I just saved her a little money...lol.

Now you have to point out that fact... Convincing argument helper when they find you a Cobalt Blue version...

I found a used one north of ATL that might go look at and now she has the idea of lowering my SG for her to ride.....lol. Funny how it changes when they want something...lol.
