    Rt198

guys need your help on ultrex for a rt198 I am purchasing. I am wanting to go ahead and the ueltrex heading this way. I am needing to know which one would be best for this boat. 112 36v or 80 24v.

I have a 80 lb Ultrex on my RT188 and rarely get it over about 30% and that is when cutting across a cove for a pretty good distance between trees I am fishing. I think the 112 would be over kill unless fishing some extreme winds all day long.

The 80 24v will be plenty for the 198.

Same here. But I have never heard anyone say that they have to much power. 36 volts will last longer and will give more options in high winds, if cost is not a problem then go for it.

I run either a 112 36V Ultrex or a 101 36V Fortrex but that's only because I decided to use the Fortrex that came off my glass Ranger when I installed the Ultrex on the tin Ranger . It's overkill to be sure but I'll never not have enough power. You'll be fine with the 24V model but if you do decide to go with a 36V, there's plenty of room in the back to add a 3rd TM battery.

I have a Maxuum 80 on my RT. It is plenty more than enough. About the only time I ever have it on 100% is when I am stuck on a stump and trying to get the boat off it.

Aluminum boats are very weight sensitive anyway and I wouldn't want to add the extra battery.
