Was told nobody made one so...

I decided to make my own dual HDS 9 console mount for my 2012 PIV. Bought a Dek-It dual console mount and designed a plate to cover the factory hole in the console. Had it flow jetted , painted and cleared and almost looks like it could be a production unit. I’m happy with it.

Thanks. If anybody out there has a PIV and would like to do the same, I can email you the design for the plate.

Why does the picture go away? How do you post without this happening?

Same thing I did on my boat. Have it out right now getting painted and hydro dipped. Will get pics up once it's finished up.

Honest question. I’m preparing to upgrade my electronics in my 06 Sabre. Looks to me like there is a lot of obstruction with sight lines for driving the boat. Not picking at your work, cause it looks good. Just curious.

    Thanks

It looks that way but it’s plenty low enough to see over it. You don’t sit real low in a PIV.

I’m not real low in mine either. Looks like I could go close to the top of the windscreen without much difficulty.

It’s about 2” over the windshield but I’m pretty tall so it’s not a problem. I do wish it was a little lower but I’d have to make a new mount to allow that. After a few times out in the boat I’ll decide whether or not I’m gonna do that or not.

I just needs to make some templates and see what works. My problem is really the width. I lose fuel, trim, and WP gauges with anything more than a 7”. WP I get from my SC monitor, trim and fuel not so much.

I did the same thing on my Caracal. I also put a plate on the inside of the console to sandwich the fiberglass between the two pieces. There is zero give and you would have to tear the entire face of the console out for it to come off.
